Can I connect kTime Terminals from remote locations to my headquarters ?
kTime terminals were developed to support true real time operation from local and remote locations. Local connectivity is accomplished by cable or using existing TCP/IP network. Its configuration with the kTime Software is straightforward and no special requirements are needed.
When handling remote location terminals, routers which grant access to Internet must be properly configured by the own IT personnel and with the help of our Technical department. Standard configurations are provided for most commercial routers.
When clocking in a K38X, Biometric Time Clock ,Do I need a PC running ?
NO , K38 terminals are fully stand alone terminals , it is possible to enroll new fingerprints , clocking and any other operation in a complete stand alone mode. PC is only needed to receive the clocking data and obtain reports.
Can I use AlfieGest Software from different PC's ?
Yes, it is advisable to install the Software in one server , any PC' with enough LAN permissions will be able to execute the complete Software without need of any further Software installation in the added PC..
Web based Software or Three-Tier Software?
Web based Software is the best solution when lot of consultations from unlimited PC's are needed and sped is not a must, but a Three Tier structure server based is unbeatable when speed and heavy calculations are needed.
Alfiegest uses a mixed approach, a Three Tier structure for 90% of the process and a web based module for online consultations of all employees.
Can I use kTime terminals with Software from other vendors?
Yes , the Communications module can generate any needed text file with the clocking data, and even more , it is posible to index in real time the information received into a third party Database through ODBC.
Can I run kTime Terminals with Linux ?
Yes , a special Communications Module is developed for Linux , but we regret to say that Alfiegest Software is only developed up to day for Windows XP , Server 2000 or Window Vista.
What kind of support I'll receive from kTime after buying a complete system?
kTime helps you in everything from installing the Software , configuring your shifts and also configuring the terminals , the only thing we cannot do is attaching the terminals to the wall. The rest is done by remote connection.
